Election Day!

Yesterday was election day, and so Tom and I decided to get up at 6:00 when the polls opened. It would be the only time that Tom could vote because he has school at 8:00 and would be busy studying all night. We woke, grabbed Ainsley out of bed, and drove to the complex next door. Another retirement community like the one at Thorneberry-we've decided it must be a subconscious requirement for us to live next to a retirement community as well as the post office because that too is just down across the street. So strange...anyway there was a line when we got there, but we voted, and were home by 7:20. We still had an hour before Tom's school started so we decided to drive down to Griffy Lake so Tom could take pictures. On Sunday, we had forgotten it was Daylight Savings and so had arrived at church an hour early. Instead of going home, we took a drive to see the beautiful fall colors. We ended up at Griffy Lake which is a gorgeous lake with a causeway across it. There is fishing on one side as well as a few nature walks. The trees go right down to the lake and so it was very picturesque. We didn't have our camera (we were going to church) so we decided to come back another day. So on Tuesday when we were already up at the crack of dawn, we took the opportunity to go back down there. We drank "Coco Comotion" aka hot chocolate and enjoyed the scenery. Then I drove Tom to school. It was such a fun moment, and it all happened by 8:00 in the morming. Wish I could be that ambitious everyday, but I'm not a morning person:)

The lake is beautiful, but I must add that Ainsley looks a bit worried about having that sticker on her head. Plus it looks like her hair is growing a lot more. Happy six months Ainsley!!
