Two weekends ago, we went to the Arlington Park race track to watch some horse racing. It is near our home and we wanted to check it out before the season was over. It is owned by the company that owns Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby takes place. It looked very similar to Churchill Downs. When we got there, Tom took Ainsley to the paddock to see the horses who had just finished a race. She enjoyed watching them and we teased her about riding them and racing in the next race. Ever since she rode the horses Louis and Clark up at Tom's family's ranch she has loved horses. After a few minutes, our friends the Carlstons arrived and we went and found a box in the shade to enjoy the last four races of the day. From where we sat we could see the entire track and so we could see the whole race. We could also see the Sears Tower in downtown Chicago. The girls got bored of sitting in the box the whole time, so Laura and I took them down to the very front so they could see the horses up close. They really enjoyed it and cheered them on. It was a lot of fun.

People always tell me that my kids look more like me than Tom...but this picture really shows their resemblance. Don't you think?
After we hit the racetrack, Tom and Mike went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the BYU/U of U game. Ainsley and Sam got dressed up, but just hung out at home with me. Since Tom is a U fan, and I am a BYU fan....we dressed one kid in each color. Guess Ainsley and Daddy won this year. Don't know what we are going to do when we have an odd number of kids:)

Love the competing college kids! I am going home for the Pitt vs. Utah game in two weeks so atom better watch out. We too have a college rivalry but haven't played each other in 12 years, so in our house it hasn't been an issue. That will all change in 5 years when the rivalry resumes starting with a game at Pitt. Brady has things for both schools, but will be 6 by then and we are going to let him choose which team he cheers for. Hopefully, having Pitt season tickets his whole life and never making it to a Penn State game will sway him to my side ;)
