Detroit Zoo

This year Bosch is celebrating its 125 anniversary. To celebrate, they had a company party at the Detroit Zoo. It was after regular zoo hours, so Bosch employees had the whole place to ourselves. Bosch provided a bbq dinner, activities, face painting, and free icecream all around the park. We hadn't been to the zoo yet, so we had a fun time exploring it. It was a cool summer evening and we had a blast. We ran into Tom's mentor Kyle and his family and some of the trainees that Tom works with. As we left, Bosch gave everyone a free beach towel, waterbottles, and bag. It was a lot of fun.

Ainsley loved it, she was so excited to see every animal. We couldn't see them fast enough, we would barely be done looking at one before she would say, "What are we going to see next?" When asked, she will tell you that the Flamingos or "Tamingos"were her favorite because they were pink. She also like the gorilla or "Granilla" as she called them. We saw a tiger, hippo, giraffes, monkeys, bears, polar bears, seals, camels, peacocks, kangaroos, etc.
Right after I took this picture, two of the rhinos started butting heads like they were fighting. It was pretty crazy!

These peacocks were everywhere around the zoo. Every time we saw one, Ainsley would excitedly point it out.
They have a path for you to walk through in the kangaroo enclosure. While we were walking through, a peacock crossed the path right in front of us. Ainsley freaked out. Then about ten seconds later, a kangaroo hopped right across the path in front of us again. Tom and I thought it was pretty cool to see, but Ainsley got scared and started crying. She only likes animals from a distance.
Watching the flamingos for the second or third time
In the reptile house, we had just seen the giant crocodiles. When we saw this miniature alligator in a cage, she said, "Oh, its a baby crocodile...its so cute. Ahhh." She kept repeating it...I thought it was funny because I do not think reptiles are cute in any way:)

I wonder how cute she'd think the alligator was if it wasn't behind that glass. If she's scared of peococks...
